Many people say you have to control for protein and calories while controlling all the meals and randomizing the groups and continuing the experiment long enough for fat adaptation.
THIS STUDY DID ALL THOSE.
It’s not just because protein is more satiating and let’s people eat less without even trying (added benefit). It’s not because protein has more of a thermic effect and burns more calories (added benefit). It’s not just because people are eating at a deficit.
It seems to point to fat being a better fuel to run on by helping us to burn more energy. There’s so many other reasons fat is the better fuel to run on, this is just the icing on the cake!
